Peer Review Process
Peer review is a vital component of the scholarly publishing process and ensures the academic quality, originality, and relevance of every manuscript published in Multiverse Journal (MVJ). The process provides authors with constructive feedback to strengthen their research and supports the editorial team in maintaining the journal’s multidisciplinary standards and academic integrity.
All manuscripts submitted to MVJ undergo a rigorous evaluation procedure consisting of two main phases: an initial editorial screening and a double-blind peer review conducted by independent subject experts.
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is evaluated by the editorial team to determine:
- Relevance to the aims and scope of MVJ
- Compliance with submission guidelines and formatting requirements
- Clarity, coherence, and academic quality
- Originality and plagiarism check results (similarity must not exceed 19%)
Following this initial check, the editor issues one of the following decisions:
- Reject
- Consider After Major Revisions
- Consider After Minor Revisions
- Accept Without Revisions
Authors are notified of the decision through the OJS system, including comments or revision requirements when applicable. Revised manuscripts must be submitted through OJS for further evaluation.
Double-Blind Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the editorial screening are sent for double-blind peer review, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
- Originality and significance
- Clarity, structure, and coherence
- Methodological rigor and validity
- Ethical compliance
- Contribution to the existing body of knowledge
Reviewers choose one of the following recommendations:
- Accept
- Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions
- Reject
Detailed review reports are provided to the authors via OJS. Authors must revise the manuscript and resubmit it within the given timeframe for further consideration.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Objectivity: Reviews must be fair, balanced, and based solely on scholarly merit.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline assignments if any conflict exists.
- Professional Conduct: Feedback must be respectful, constructive, and aimed at improving the manuscript.
- Timeliness: Reviews should typically be completed within 21 days. Authors should respond to revision requests within 14–30 days.
Language of Review Reports
All review comments must be written in clear and professional English. The editorial team may edit unclear statements for clarity before forwarding them to the authors.
Transparency and Revision Handling
If required, revised manuscripts may undergo a second round of peer review. For minor revisions, the editorial office verifies that all reviewer comments have been addressed before issuing a final decision. All communication and documentation are managed through OJS for transparency and accurate tracking.
Ethical Concerns
Reviewers must notify the editor immediately if they suspect plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate submission, or ethical issues. Reviewers should not investigate such matters independently; the editorial team handles all inquiries.
Transferability of Peer Review
If a reviewer is invited to assess the same manuscript for another journal, they must inform the MVJ editorial team. Any reuse of review reports requires written consent from both journals involved.
Multiverse Journal (MVJ) is committed to a fair, transparent, and rigorous peer review process. The collaborative efforts of editors, reviewers, and authors uphold the academic quality and multidisciplinary nature of the journal.
