AI Policy For Editors

Multiverse Journal (MVJ) upholds the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in all editorial processes. Editors play a crucial role in maintaining the quality, fairness, and credibility of the journal. The use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies by editors must comply with the following principles and restrictions.

1. Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts are strictly confidential. Editors must not upload or share any manuscript, or part of it, with AI tools or external platforms, as this may violate author confidentiality, proprietary rights, or data privacy regulations. This includes all editorial communications, such as decision letters, reviewer invitations, reviewer comments, and internal correspondence. Editors must avoid using AI tools to draft, edit, or refine such communications to prevent unintended disclosure of confidential information.

2. Use of AI in Editorial Decision-Making

Editorial evaluation requires human judgment, subject expertise, and critical reasoning. Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must not be used to evaluate, interpret, or make decisions regarding the scientific content, quality, or merit of manuscripts. Editors are fully responsible for reviewer selection, manuscript evaluation, and final decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection. AI must not replace editorial judgment.

3. AI Disclosure and Oversight

Authors may use AI in manuscript preparation only with proper disclosure. Editors must verify AI use declarations in the AI Disclosure section of each manuscript before the references. Any suspected misuse or non-disclosure of AI by authors or reviewers must be reported immediately to the Editor-in-Chief or Publisher for investigation in accordance with MVJ ethical policies.

4. AI in Editorial Workflows

MVJ may use AI-assisted technologies internally for specific editorial functions, such as plagiarism detection, metadata verification, or reviewer assignment. These tools operate under strict data protection, privacy, and confidentiality standards. AI is used solely as a supportive aid to improve editorial efficiency and does not replace independent editorial judgment.

5. Responsibility and Accountability

Editors are personally responsible for maintaining confidentiality, fairness, and ethical integrity throughout the editorial process. Any misuse of AI that compromises confidentiality, objectivity, or ethical standards may result in disciplinary action, including removal from editorial responsibilities. MVJ supports the responsible and transparent use of AI tools that enhance editorial workflows, provided they respect human oversight, integrity, and confidentiality.
