AI Policy for Reviewers
Multiverse Journal (MVJ) upholds the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical responsibility in the peer review process. Reviewers are essential for maintaining the quality and credibility of published research. The use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies during the review process must follow the guidelines below.
1. Confidentiality
All manuscripts submitted for review are confidential. Reviewers must not upload or share any part of a manuscript, including text, tables, or figures, with AI tools or external applications, as this may violate authors' rights and privacy. This confidentiality also applies to review reports; AI must not be used to draft, refine, or analyze review content in a way that exposes confidential information.
2. Use of AI in Scientific Evaluation
Peer review requires independent judgment, expertise, and critical analysis, which AI systems cannot replace. Reviewers must not rely on AI tools to evaluate, interpret, or summarize the scientific content of a manuscript. Reviewers are solely responsible for the originality, accuracy, and fairness of their evaluations.
3. Language and Readability
AI tools may be used only for improving the language, grammar, or clarity of review reports, and only if no confidential manuscript content is entered into the AI system. Full confidentiality of the manuscript must always be maintained.
4. AI in Editorial Workflow
MVJ may use AI-assisted tools internally to support routine editorial operations, such as plagiarism detection, reviewer assignment, or initial manuscript screening. These tools are used under strict supervision and comply with confidentiality and data protection protocols. AI does not replace human judgment in editorial decisions; it is only a supportive aid to improve efficiency and consistency.
5. Reviewer Responsibility
Reviewers remain fully responsible for the quality, accuracy, and integrity of their comments, evaluations, and recommendations. Misuse of AI that compromises confidentiality, ethics, or peer review integrity may result in revocation of reviewer privileges and further action by the MVJ Editorial Board.
